As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing customer experience, several alrajhi bank Malaysia branches across the country will be transformed into Smart Financial Centers (SFCs) between 23 February 2026 and 4 March 2026.

These centers will offer faster and more convenient service through digital and self-service channels. As part of this transformation, several over-the-counter (OTC) services will be discontinued, and in some locations, branches will be phased out.

Why are alrajhi bank Malaysia branches becoming Smart Financial Centers? 

This change is part of alrajhi bank Malaysia’s digital transformation journey, allowing the Bank to deliver faster, more convenient, and more efficient services through digital and self-service channels.  

 

When will branches become Smart Financial Centers? 

The change takes effect from 23 February 2026.

What services will still be available at the branch after it becomes a Smart Financial Center? 

After the transition, Smart Financial Centers will focus on advisory, service support, and digital banking assistance. Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and Cash Deposit Machines (CDM) at all branches/Smart Financial Centers will remain available.

 

Is the Bank closing its branches?

Yes, 7 of our branches will close, but we have transformed 6 others into Smart Financial Centers. These new centers are designed to give you a more modern, seamless, and convenient banking experience, with personalized support. 

 

Are the branches closing immediately? 

No, the branches will not be closing immediately. Instead, they will operate as Smart Financial Centers. These centers will continue to serve customers during the transition period and will be gradually closed, with closures occurring on 26 June, 30 June, and 29 July 2026.

 

Why is alrajhi bank Malaysia closing branches? 

This change reflects how customers are increasingly banking digitally. The Bank is evolving how services are delivered, not reducing its presence. Customers will continue to have access to branches, ATMs, digital banking platforms, and our Customer Care team. 

 

Will my accounts, cards, or banking arrangements change? 

No, your accounts and cards will remain unchanged. 

 

Will I still be able to access my money after this change? 

Yes. Customers will continue to have uninterrupted access to all banking services. Only certain over-the-counter (OTC) cash services at Smart Financial Centers will stop. ATM and CDM services at all branches/Smart Financial Centers remain available and digital banking services remain fully accessible.

Customers can still access the following services at Smart Financial Centers: 

  • ATM & CDM services (Available until full branch closure)
  • Digital banking assistance – Help with MY alrajhi mobile app and online banking
  • Account-related enquiries – Balance checks, account information, general servicing
  • Product information and guidance – Financing, deposits, savings, and other banking products
  • Customer service support – Issue resolution, service requests, and enquiries
  • Assistance for senior citizens and customers with disabilities – including guided support and in-person help 

 

Where cash services will still be available 

  • All alrajhi bank Malaysia ATMs and CDMs
  • MEPS ATM network nationwide
  • Over the counter at alrajhi bank Malaysia Bangsar branch and Kuching branch. 

 

Where else can I withdraw or deposit cash besides going to the branch? 

Customers may continue using any alrajhi bank Malaysia ATM and CDM and withdraw or deposit cash using the MEPS ATM network nationwide.  

 

Are ATM withdrawals still free? 

Cash withdrawals at any alrajhi bank Malaysia ATM remains free-of-charge and all alrajhi bank Malaysia debit cardholders enjoy up to three free cash withdrawals per month at all MEPS ATM nationwide. 

 

How can I do my daily banking without visiting a branch? 

  • For personal banking, please use the MY alrajhi mobile banking app
  • For business banking, please use alrajhicashbiz@24seven online banking platform. 

 

What if I’m not comfortable using digital banking? 

Our employees at the Smart Financial Centers can provide step-by-step guidance, and customers may also visit our Bangsar or Kuching branch for traditional counter services. 

 

What support is available for customers? 

Our customers will continue to receive in-person assistance at the Smart Financial Centers. Staff will be available to guide them through digital banking or help with their enquiries during their visit.  

 

Will all customers be forced to use digital banking only? 

No. Customers who require additional assistance will continue to receive in-person support and may choose to visit our other branches that offer traditional counter services. 

 

I visit my branch frequently, traveling to another alrajhi bank Malaysia branch will be difficult. 

There are alternative ways of banking with us that could reduce the need to visit a branch as often, as most of our services are also now available on MY alrajhi. If you need more information, we will be happy to discuss the options available to you. 

 

I would like to close my alrajhi bank Malaysia accounts. Who should I speak to? 

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and would like to assure you that you may continue to bank with us at any of our other branches. If you need more information, we will be happy to discuss the options available to you.
