Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia reaffirms its commitment to Malaysia by investing in the education ofthe nation’s future leaders. The Bank recently contributed RM76,500 to Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS), to sponsor 50 units of laptops to benefit first year Malaysian undergraduate
students from the B40 category.

"We are pleased to contribute to the purchase of laptops which will benefit the B40 students. This is part of Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia’s initiatives in supporting the growth of education in this country and contributing towards a better tomorrow, in line with our dedication to care for the society,” said Arsalaan (Oz) Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer, Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia at the Presentation of Laptops to Asnaf Undergraduates 2021, organized by YSS.

The laptops were distributed by Dato’ Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia to the student recipients at a special event organized by YSS.

“As a bank which advocates digital banking, Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia believes that it is crucial for everyone to have access to technology, especially among university students. We hope this initiative will bridge the digital learning gap between those who can afford digital devices and those who are less privileged,” added Oz.

Also present at the event were Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon, Deputy Minister of Education I, Malaysia and Wong Kim Lun, Chief Executive Officer of YSS.

The 10 public higher education institutions are Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kampus Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia, Politeknik Shah Alam, Politeknik Metro Kuala Lumpur, and Kolej Komuniti Selayang.
