NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the public that AL RAJHI BANKING & INVESTMENT CORPORATION (MALAYSIA) BHD (“AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA”) (Company No.: 200501036909 (719057-X)) of Ground Floor, East Block, Wisma Golden Eagle Realty, 142-B Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

1)      is the owner of the corporate name “AL RAJHI BANKING & INVESTMENT CORPORATION (MALAYSIA) BHD”, which is registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) in Malaysia (hereinafter referred to as “the Corporate Name”); and

2)      has the rights to use in Malaysia, the following trademarks, which have been registered with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (“MyIPO”) under the Trademarks Act 2019, under the name of AL-RAJHI BANKING & INVESTMENT CORPORATION, a related company to AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA:

(hereinafter referred to as “the Registered Trademarks”)

IT HAS COME TO AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’S ATTENTION THAT unauthorized third parties, have conducted advertisements and communicated to public at large via text messaging (SMS) and online platforms (such as WhatsApp, e-mail, Facebook and websites) claiming to offer investment products and plans at competitive pricing (“Advertisements and Communications”) under the name of company(ies) which are identical and/or confusingly similar to the Corporate Name and the Registered Trademarks, without AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA and/or AL-RAJHI BANKING & INVESTMENT CORPORATION’s permission and consent (“Unauthorized Acts”).

PLEASE NOTE THAT:

(a)       AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA DENIES any association with such unauthorized third parties;

(b)       AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE for any loss or damage suffered by the members of the public caused as a result of any reliance to or acting upon any such representations made via the Advertisements and Communications or pursuant to the Unauthorized Acts;

(c)      AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s advertisement of products and services offered, campaigns and related official communications by AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA will be made through AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s official channels, the details of which are as mentioned below (“AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s Official Channel”) and thus AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA DISCLAIMS any link or connection to any advertisements and/or communications other than those specifically made through AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s Official Channels; and

(d)    THE PUBLIC IS HEREBY REQUESTED to immediately inform and to report to AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA through AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s customer care consultant, the details of which are as mentioned below (“AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s Customer Care Consultant”) on the Advertisements and Communications and/or the Unauthorized Acts (if the public knows any).

THE PUBLIC IS ALSO HEREBY WARNED AND ADVISED:

(i)       To ignore such Advertisements and Communications and to refrain from giving your personal information in response to such Advertisements and Communications. This is to ensure that you are protected from becoming victims of phishing, identity theft or malicious malware, amongst others. Such Advertisements and Communications may represent a fraudulent attempt to elicit funds from our customers and members of the public;

(ii)       Not to provide any information nor send any funds, to any unauthorized mobile numbers or Whatsapp or e-mail addresses as well as not to click on any link sent via email claiming to be from AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA or from any party claiming to be affiliated with AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA pursuant to such Advertisements and Communications. For secure online banking experience, you are advised to always ensure the correct AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA’s website URL and preferably manually type https://www.alrajhibank.com.my into your internet browser and ensure that such website depicted official AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA masthead; and

(iii)       Not to do any act which may infringe AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA‘s rights in respect of the Corporate Name and AL-RAJHI BANKING & INVESTMENT CORPORATION’s rights in respect of the Registered Trademarks (including to use the Registered Trademarks and to authorize other persons to use the Registered Trademarks in relation to those goods or services which appear in the Register of Trademarks).

PLEASE NOTE THAT AL RAJHI BANK MALAYSIA will not hesitate to take all legal actions available under the applicable laws against any company, firm or person in respect of the Advertisement and Communications and/or the Unauthorized Acts.
