Kuala Lumpur - Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia (ARBM), a wholly owned subsidiary of the world’s largest Islamic bank, Al Rajhi Bank, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today, announced the appointment of Datuk Dr Nik Norzrul Thani Bin Nik Hassan Thani as its new Chairman effective 13 July 2016.

Datuk Dr Nik brings with him a wealth of experience with over 35 years of local and international experience in the legal, academic and Islamic banking sectors. Prior to this, he was also Acting Chairman of the Bank. He has served as a Board Member of ARBM since 2006. In his role, Datuk Dr Nik advises clients on a wide range of legal matters from banking advisory to Islamic Finance.

Datuk Dr Nik possesses extensive experience in advising clients on debt and corporate restructuring transactions, and on the issuance of private debt securities including Islamic financial instruments (domestic and international). He is a director of several government linked and public listed companies.  He is also a renowned writer, having written several books and articles on Islamic Banking and International Corporate Finance. Datuk Dr Nik was previously a visiting Fulbright scholar at Harvard Law School as well as a Chevening Fellow at Oxford University.
